Being part of this training group was one of the best physical challenges and experiences I have ever had.It is high on the bucket list for sure!I have always loved fitness and being active, however running has never been my sport of choice. If you asked me about training for a marathon just a year ago the answer without hesitation would have been no way.The whole idea made me uncomfortable, which actually was one of the driving forces as I signed up for training (the other force was the fact that I had 2 amazing friends willing to join me).In my mind, I thought if I could be successful and complete this training that made me squirm just thinking about it, then what else might I accomplish or overcome. So, I signed and now I can honestly say that my mindset about running is forever changed and it is all due to an amazing coach and group of women who I completely adore and admire in every way.
Running the Womens Marathon was a great accomplishment, one I will always be proud to share with the Fab 50 women. It was physically and mentally challenging and I am grateful to Pamela for the training and time she dedicated to getting us all to the finish line.On our own we are mothers, sisters, aunts, wives, grandmothers and friends but together we are athletes.Thank you Pamela and all the Fab 50 women!Love you all!Kellie, FAB 50 WHM Finisher, 11/2011

After two surgeries and sinking into an unhealthy state of overweight depression, a friend of mine introduced me to Pamela Paul and her "FAB 50 group.I have always dabbled in running and even ran a couple of 5Ks, but I was getting nowhere fast because I didnt have the proper training ground to excel with my running until I met Pamela who literally changed my life.Through her incredibly sensible and doable monthly phases training program, I was able to achieve the physical and mental strength to run and proudly finish the Womens Half-Marathon on 11/20/2011 in St. Petersburg, FL!Thank you so much Pamela for your strong but yet compassionate encouragement that made me a winner and I look forward to many more glorious times together! Go FAB 50! - Carolyn, FAB 50 WHM Finisher, 11/2011

There is an old saying about when the student is ready the teacher appears. I had just set a goal to lose some weight and start exercising in April. There was a post on facebook about a running group to train for a half marathon. A fabulous journey began for me. I got the information and made the decision to join the group.
What can I say...You never know when you will be find your next adventure. A friend told me she was training for a half marathon...I asked for more information and the next thing I know, I have a whole new group of friends that I look forward to being with on Saturday mornings. The camaraderie and stories we shared were priceless parts of my week. We shared private frustrations and personal victories together as well as many, many laughs!
Most of us had never run very far before...some only for one minute at a time, some for a mile. My personal experience was 3 miles once or twice a week. For the months preceding this training, I was very inconsistent and found this group to be a great kick start.
Three years ago I could barely walk because my heel hurt so bad. I watched Pam run in a half marathon at that time and thought to myself "I would never want to do that." Some time later Pam challenged me to run in a half with her. I said, "let me see if I can do a 5k first." So I trained and ran in a 5k then ran in several more. Then Pam told me about the FAB 50 group, so I jumped in. Halfway through the training I didn't know if I'd be able to keep going because my heel hurt so bad. I ask God what I should do and after researching on the web, I found a supplement that has helped tremendously. Though I never really enjoyed the training I sure did enjoy crossing the finish line. I did something I never thought was possible. And, now I'm setting other goals that used to seem too big. I figure if I can run a half marathon I can do anything. Thanks Pam for pushing me to a new level. You're awesome!(Oh, and I'm still running). - Sharon, FAB 50 WHM Finisher, 11/2011
My first response to receiving an invitation to participate in the WHM training? Are you crazy, this must be a joke! However, after two of my dear and courageous friends accepted the challenge how could I possibly refuse? I doubt they were going to accept a no from me anyway. Running a few 5k's no problem. Running a half marathon, that's a different thing all together. With Pamela's help I determined my "whys' and stayed focused during our weeks of training. The sense of friendship and commitment made by all the Fab 50 members each Saturday morning was encouraging. I value all the tidbits of information we each shared with one another; stretching techniques, pacing strategies, clothing suggestions, food choices, and so many others items of wisdom. Running in the WHM in St Pete was great fun! I am proud to say I have run my first half marathon ~ looking forward to the next.Heidi, FAB 50 WHM Finisher, 11/2011
I first heard of this training program through a friend who knew Pamela and raved about how much of an amazing woman she was. First hand, I can agree with that and add that her positive attitude made this whole experience that much easier.
Pretty much my whole life I have been up and down with my weight, exercised on and off, and worst of all, I smoked a lot.Starting this program made me truly realize how out of shape I was and how unhealthy I was living.Pamela brought a group of women together who knew things I was feeling and that was comforting to me. Ive never run before and am so proud of this unbelievable accomplishment! I am looking forward to the next training session to push myself even harder! Thanks Pamela for all your support!Liz, FAB 50 WHM Finisher, 11/2011
It's hard to put into words what an incredible experience I have had since I joined Pamela's Fab 50 team. I had never ran more than 4 miles here and there in my life but the thought of accomplishing a half marathon was so intriguing to me! What an impressive feat that would be! In the 26 week program, I not only accomplished my goal of finishing a half marathon at my goal time but I have created a close bond with an amazingly strong group of women that I will cherish and be thankful for the rest of my life.- FAB 50 WHM Finisher, 11/2011
Wow! What started as an unimaginable challenge has become an incredible victory. Your invitation brought mixed emotions. This training has accomplished more than turning this sedentary middle-aged woman into an athlete. It has inspired, motivated, and changed me. The physical, mental, and spiritual benefits far surpass the menial price of giving up sleeping in on Saturday morning and two black toe nails. I would encourage anyone reading this to GO FOR IT! You can accomplish more than you think and Pamela can show you the way.-FAB 50 WHM Finisher, 11/2011
